Happy Independence Day! Now Exercise Your Right.

As we enter the 4th of July holiday, many of us anticipate the fireworks, cookouts and family reunions. Some of my best memories are those serving this nation. along with making some of the best friends that one could ask. Independence Day represents so much more than many of us display. It’s a day and time to show gratitude for the freedoms that many have based on many that sacrificed and gave the ultimate sacrifice in order for you and me to live a free and happy life. It means different things to different people. From a historical perspective, the official meaning can be found here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jul/5/meaning-independence-day/ With all respect to the birth of this nation and the constitution, I view this beyond that spectrum.

When we examine this, we should exercise every right that has been given. What I mean by “exercise your right” is for us to take full advantage of the power and opportunities that we have in this country. I’ve witnessed first-hand encounters, the dreams, and pursuits that many have and would be willing to die for the opportunity to live “The American Dream”. The American Dream is person dependent and means something different to everyone. Regardless, we owe it to ourselves and the contributors of our freedom to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be. We also should embrace and fulfill our ambitions because of the freedoms that we’re afforded. Enough with the excuses. If people can come from other areas of the world with nothing and create something, what give you and I the right to complain?

We must be better versions of ourselves. This is one way that we can simply give thanks and appreciation towards our patriots of our country, our ethnicity, and our families. Have a fantastic Independence Day.
