17 Apr The Health Benefits of Eggs
Does anyone remember that commercial “The Incredible Edible Egg”? Here’s a link to that classic low quality 90’s video. https://youtu.be/WCs7Ms3fILs 🍳 Now that I’ve been all into this health and fitness journey for quite some time, eggs are a major staple in my meals. Especially breakfast. Why? Several reasons.
- The whites are rich sources of selenium, vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals such as zinc, iron and copper.
- They Are High in Cholesterol, But They Don’t Adversely Affect Blood Cholesterol
- They Raise HDL (The “Good”) Cholesterol
- They Contain Choline – an Important Nutrient That Most People Don’t Get Enough of
- Eggs Turn LDL Cholesterol From Small, Dense to Large, Linked to a Reduced Risk of Heart Disease
- They Contain Lutein and Zeaxanthin, Antioxidants That Have Major Benefits For Eye Health
- In the Case of Omega-3 or Pastured Eggs, They Lower Triglycerides as Well
- They Are High in Quality Protein, With All The Essential Amino Acids in The Right Ratios
- Eggs do NOT Raise Your Risk of Heart Disease and May Reduce The Risk of Stroke
- They Are Highly Fulfilling and Tend to Make You Eat Fewer Calories, Helping You to Lose Weight
